Re: 2013 JK NOT a Rubicon, NOT going to build this one....

yep all valid points, and I think you will be perfectly fine with 35s as far as strength. My thoughts exactly on 37s though, you just end up stressing everything just that much more, and end up needing to replace bearings, and things like that more often. Not always about what will actually break, b...

Re: 2013 JK NOT a Rubicon, NOT going to build this one....

I wasnt saying the R&P were weak, just that with RCVs, they might be the weak link. Replacing an axle is easier than replacing a R&P. Having said that,,,, having RCVs and not having to worry about U-Joints would be awesome. He daily drives his a decent bit, like I do. Going to 37s robs even more pow...

Re: 2013 JK NOT a Rubicon, NOT going to build this one....

Nice, didnt know you got RCVs also.
Are you worried at all about the R&P being the weak link now? Always wondered about that with RCVs.

I wouldn't go 37s, you should have a pretty bullet proof setup right now!

Re: 2013 JK NOT a Rubicon, NOT going to build this one....

yea I remember you saying before that they did well, especially for what they are.
Tires are odd like that, definitely cant judge them by looks.
My beefy 35x12.50x17 KM2s are WAY quieter than the 265/75/16 Wrangler Authortys I have on my Taco.

Re: Alternative to Aftermarket Tire Carrier

Slade, I know they have bumped up the weight rating on the JK gate over the years, though I dont know what they have actually changed. So you might be ok you your 4 door wince its a 2014. But keep an eye on the spot welds on the inside panel of your gate, it pops them when there is too much weight, ...

Re: Alternative to Aftermarket Tire Carrier

I need to replace my tire carrier bumpstops as well, but I have also read that the Daystars are junk, basically foam.
Not really seen any others out there, Ill just have to pick up some stock ones.
The bumper/tire carrier I have on the way uses the stock ones. Mine are all smashed and wonky.

Re: jtice - 2013 JK Rubicon - Build Thread

I sold it, had it a whole 2 years, ok, 3 days shy of 2 years I think. It was nice, especially for what I paid for it, but it had alot of miles on it, and had some things I wanted to improve on it. I love TJs, always will, but the JK addressed alot of things for me. (more room, better ride, better lo...

Re: Selectable locker in JK Dana 30

Like I said, it came in the Jeep, it would not be my first choice either.
I do really like the nice LSD when unlocked, other than that. meh.

Are their many or any, other true lockers that are LSD when open?
