Re: Armor material.

Yea if you are going to add the weight, doing it down low with steel belly skids, oil pan skids, and even rock rails isnt too bad. Wont harm your COG in a bad way. The fenders and corners are a tough call. I hope to have mine tube fendered some day. The front wouldnt be a big deal since you end up r...

Holy Crap, you updated your build thread!? Cant wait to get it all back together and get some testing done. I think its going to be some great improvements that make the Jeep both more capable and more fun to drive. Happy to help out.... besides, payback is a biotch.. you can slave away on m...

Re: Armor material.

What are your future plans? Especially when it comes to more armor? I can tell you from experience, it adds up, fast. I was in the same boat as you, wanting to do the harder trails, but not wanting alot of body damage, especially since it was my DD. My last Jeep was armored all over, Besides the dri...

Re: What did you do to your Jeep Today?

Thats an awesome mounting solution.
Ive noticed that some of the out of the way places to mount one is not always easy to get to.
And it even looks like you have a decent sized one.

Re: LED Lighting Laws

You can mount whatever lights or LED lights you want below the headlights, not covered.
But obviously, most you cant use on the roads around other cars or you will blind them.
Anything above the headlights is supposed to be covered. But this does not seem to be enforced in most towns.

Re: tractor supply winch rope?

Got the Tractor Supply 2/5" 15k lbs Rope today. Its BEEFY. I am actually a bit concerned if its all going to fit on the winch. haha Seems very nice though, the first 12" has something like shrink wrap on it, it also has the protective webbing sleeve on the other end. The eyelet is huge, I would say ...

Re: tractor supply winch rope?

Also remember that even if you had a hawse fairlead with your steel cable, you need to get a new one when switching to snyth. it will most likely have scratches and gouges in it that will damage the synth rope. Same with the drum, inspect it, sand it smooth if necessary. Got my new hawse the other d...

Re: tractor supply winch rope?

Oh that is very tempting. Not a bad price at all, I was recently looking into going synth. Little shorter than normal, but its also thicker than others I have looked at. Like others have said, I dont think that would be TOO short, I typically dont let out all my line now, and you should always have ...
