Re: Locker install Fairmont/Motown area?

I think he might be wanting to see if there is anyone local (none business) that has done the install that is willing to help.
I have looked up how to do it, but dont trust myself to try it. "Seems" simple enough, but not something you want to get wrong.

Re: I will NEVER buy anything from Rusty's offroad ever again.

We eventually weighed it,, pretty sure it was over its rated gross hauling weight haha It was 1500 lbs heavier than a stock Rubicon. The weight helped and hurt in different situations, it did make it very planted offroad. Just sucked to drive on the pavement. lol Yea, its a shame, the Rustys setup i...

Re: I will NEVER buy anything from Rusty's offroad ever again.

yea, cant say I disagree there, I was thinking the same thing, and even looked into complete steering upgrades that replace the drag link. I dont really like the inverted Y setups, but for what I have planned, I think it would be overkill to completely upgrade everything. My old Jeep did fine with s...

Re: I will NEVER buy anything from Rusty's offroad ever again.

Off Amazon, the ZJ swap is $93.51 with Prime Shipping. Tie Rod End - ES3096L Adjusting Sleeve - ES2079S Tie Rod - DS1312 Its temping, you get the beefier TREs that way, the rod itself does seem to be beefier than stock, but not as beefy as some of the others using things like 1.25" DOM tubing. To me...

Re: I will NEVER buy anything from Rusty's offroad ever again.

That one also seems to use the thinner stock TJ TRE.
Ehhh I guess thats no big deal, the larger ZJ TRE only have larger threading, the taper is the same, so my luck that would snap off in the knuckle. lol

Re: I will NEVER buy anything from Rusty's offroad ever again.

Jeep Ride, Slade, Looked at those, the only issue I have with those, and most others I am finding, is that they use the standard TRE. The main thing I liked about the Rustys one is that it used the beefier TRE that has a larger threaded shaft, but still has the stock taper so you dont have to modify...

Re: I will NEVER buy anything from Rusty's offroad ever again.

Heard alot of bad things about Rustys also. Shame, I was looking at their HD Steering Tie rod, I like that it uses the beefier MOOG ends. (my tie rod is bent) I emailed them with a couple questions, never heard back from them. Anyone know a good alternative thats not expensive? yes, I know the Curri...

Re: What did you do to your Jeep Today?

I have a box full of switches, USB ports, and 12V socket, waiting to get around to being put in the Jeep, just been putting it off. I planned on taking out the ash tray and stock switch panel also, and making a plate like that top pic. Only issue with that is the angle of it, and it being so low, mi...
