There are clips specifically for this purpose that came from the factory. Most likely you no longer have these clips.

I don't remember which fuse it is, but, yes, you can pull a fuse and defeat the lights. Just look on the fuse cover, I'm sure it'll become obvious.

In my jeep they will actually shut off after a few minutes.....but you can also just unplug the switch that's in the door jam.

Unplug the switch in the door jam. They should be blade fittings. That way you don't have to buy the "keepers" or pull a fuse. And still have your lights at the control knob if ya need em.

I'd like to strangle the guy that disconnected my switches, and lost them.

There is a fuse specifically for this purpose. Switch still works like normal.

Disconnecting the switch at the door works fine, as well. I just hate that the PO lost them, and now i have nothing, except on the interior switch.

I pull the fuse in spring, and put it back in in the fall.

You can also wire up a switch inline with that fuse, thats how mine is.
Fuse stays in place, flip a switch on the dash when the doors are off.

open the glove box, slip the strap out of the grove so you can pivot it to horizontal and remove the bottom right fuse. I keep one of those little yellow plastic fuse tools in the glove box. it literally takes 15 seconds.

Yep. Now that I've had a moment to look. It should be fuse #4. It is specifically there for the door switch defeat feature.

Everything still works as it should, but, your lights WON'T stay on with no doors. Interior light switch works normally.

ETA: when cycling the key OFF, maybe ON too I don't remember, the lights will come on for about 10 seconds, then go out again. This is normal.

This is what I did. One of my simplest and favorite mods. It also defeats the "Hey dummy you left your keys in the ignition" alarm.
