That's what I really want in my rear axle.
I really wish that someone would make a true locker, that reverts to a LSD when not locked. When I had my TruTrac in the rear my Tj was unstoppable in the snowy weather. Was defiantly way smoother than running with the rear ARB locked..
An Eaton E locker IS an LSD when it's not locked, if I remember correctly.

Eaton is open when unlocked. Auburn Ected is LSD when unlocked.

Yes but the Ected isn't a true locker. It forces the clutches in the lsd to grab when "locked". The clutches wear out just like any lsd that uses them.

I didn't know that, but it makes sense.

I wish they made a gear type LSD, like a TruTrac, that would lock up like a spool with the flip of a switch.

I have an Ected, came in the Jeep, The LSD works VERY well, so well that I have not engaged the locker since I put a Spartan up front.
When engaged, they can be a bit odd, they arent LOCKED, think of it as a very tight LSD.
You can actually get them to slip, which is un-nerving when they do it, cuz they pop.
Some say they like it, since it should slip before snapping a shaft.

I don't think I'd pay all that money for something that didn't lock.

Like I said, it came in the Jeep, it would not be my first choice either.
I do really like the nice LSD when unlocked, other than that. meh.

Are their many or any, other true lockers that are LSD when open?
