Mike aka TJFrog

Post by tupton » Fri Nov 01, 2013 11:06 pm

Although he hasn't had a jeep or been active on the board for a few years due to poor health, I think many of the old timers on here got to wheel with my father in Law Mike Clark. Now it looks like he will be going on his last ride in this life.

He has been on a respirator for about 10 days now after acute respiratory failure, and his wife has decided to end any additional life support. We are waiting on family to say their goodbyes and will prob sign the order on Sunday.

If any of you have a funny story to tell about crazy old Mike, please post. I may try to tell a few of these at his eventual funeral.

Thanks

Tom

I have been lucky enough to do some wheeling with Mike. What I remember is that he really drove that Jeep like it stole money from him (most of them do). I am VERY sorry to hear about everything that you are going through Tom. You and your family will be in my thoughts buddy!

I don't know what to say Tom, other than we'll be praying for you and your family. When I think of Mike and his Jeeps the first words that come to my mind are "rev limiter". I think that's the only thing that kept the 4-banger running.

I met mike way back in 2007 and instantly liked hanging with him. Mike was one of those special people you just couldn't help but enjoy being around. Whether it was out on the trail, at a JeepinWV M&G, or partying late into the night at the MOR Jambo. Mike always had a smile on his face and a fun story to tell. Over a 3 year period I was privileged enough to Trail ride with him 25 plus times and getting to watch him jump that little TJ like a frog was ALWAYS A BLAST!!! If you never got to wheel with him, here is a clip of Mike and the TJFrog in action............

Mike was a great guy, I was glad to be one of the lucky ones who did quite a bit of wheeling with him. He will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to you, Tom and family.
I know...it's not an XJ.
