Back in the game, LJ style
« on: February 04, 2019, 10:10:58 AM »
Picked this up in February of 2018 after trading my JKU away..............

A friend of mine in Phoenix told me about his neighbor selling his Jeep. The rest is history.

The first mods I ordered in late February 2018 were:

JKS 1.25" Body lift
MORE 1" Motor Mount Lift
Supreme Seat Risers
2.5" OME Lift with long travel shocks
JKS adjustable control arms
Currie Anti-Rock front sway bar

I also had the stuff laying around in my building to put a compass / thermometer rear view mirror in a TJ. I think I was saving it for a buddy of mine, but he sold his Jeep. Lucky me! I also ordered a touch screen radio with satellite and navigation. It's a really cool add-on.

In March I added a touch of modern in the LJ with a touchscreen radio that includes bluetooth streaming and hands-free phone calls.

Had to replace about 25 feet of wire loom in the engine compartment.

Every time you touched it, it disintegrated.

The folks at Driveline Services helped get my suspension, body and motor mount lift installed during the month of March.  They also installed Detroit TruTracs in both axles and 4:56 gears.  This thing climbs like a billy goat.

Got a whole lot accomplished on my own the first weekend in April 2018. New tires, wider flares, ZJ steering conversion, and a new OPDA are all installed. Only thing left is to decide on were bumpers and wire up the winch.

Bumpers and rock sliders were installed in mid April 2018.

May 2018 brought new heavy duty hinges and a tire carrier, new replacement Bestop and a Teraflex mount for the Firestik.  Moved the spare tire down so it sits on the bumper now. Much better solution for vibrations and also keeps it low so I can see out the back window. It also takes the load off of the tailgate.

Also go my Spectre Cowl Cold Air Induction installed in May 2018 after two evenings of work. I could definitely feel the difference in throttle response, especially with the new muffler.  And the driver's seat dyno says I added some horsepower. But I'm not sure I would do it again, as it was a pain in the buttocks to install.

Near the end of May 2018, I installed Bright Sky LEDs on a suggestion from Vince Lucas (thanks man!). Reviews are not as good as JW Speaker, but they are 1/5 of the price. Very pleased with the performance thus far. They definitely light up the night!

In October of 2018, got my SRC cage, BedRug liner, antenna mount, winch solenoid, light bar, auto-dimming mirror and some other goodies installed thanks to some help from Corey Cunningham. He also found and fixed my mysterious oil leak.

Replacing the dome light(s) with LEDs is a cheap, simple and very effective upgrade.

I also did the dashboard lights.

Mid November 2018 I installed rear spring bucket relocation brackets and shock relocaters.

(sorry, no pics on that install, what was I thinking?)
